But I'm still tempted to look more at this because I think I can get better sounding brass, strings, and woodwinds than the stock or free VSTIs. To do that required multiple instances fo the font player which ate up respurces in a hurry. The bad? Well, first of all setting up the code was a bit tedious (though my progrmming skills came in handy there) and there was no easy way that I found to separate each drum / cymbal to separate subtracks. The result was not only very realistic (given a good set of drum soundfonts) but was actually different each time I played through the song (within Mixcraft). What I liked was the programming language offered just what I was looking for - the ability to generate a slightly different sounding hit randomly by setting a relatively small range of velocities and pitch changed for any given midi note. I used soundfonts a while ago when looking for good drum sounds without spending a lot.
